History of Watts Construction Company
In 1954 Harry Watts came to Kalamazoo, Michigan to become a homebuilder. Between 1954 & 1972 Harry created several construction company partnerships, but in 1972 he founded Watts Construction Company. After his children were grown the three boys, Don, David and Ken Watts joined the family business.
Upon Harry's death in 1974, Don (the eldest) took over the business with his two brothers. After a few years David and Ken left the company to start their own construction companies. Meanwhile, Don and his wife, Joyce, expanded the business creating new developments and building more homes while raising a family. One by one their children came into the business making them third generation builders.
