When building a home the builder and the customer try to think of every contingency when preparing the contract. However, you the customer may have a situation or circumstance change or you may have forgotten to add something in the contract you realized at a later date. Depending upon when this discovery happens and the stage the home is in during the construction process it may be no problem to make the change you request. Remember that not all changes can be made and if work is already complete it may be very expensive or cost prohibitive to make the change.
