When you build a home you will most likely conduct a walk-through with the construction superintendent or other builder representative approximately 1-2 weeks before closing. This is called the Homeowner Orientation and the information includes how to prepare for this meeting.

When building a home the builder and the customer try to think of every contingency when preparing the contract. However, you the customer may have a situation or circumstance change or you may have forgotten to add something in the contract you realized at a later date. Depending upon when this discovery happens and the stage the home is in during the construction process it may be no problem to make the change you request. Remember that not all changes can be made and if work is already complete it may be very expensive or cost prohibitive to make the change. Keep in mind you may also be charged for the creation of the estimate (whether the change even occurs). If you wish to make a change please contact your sales representative. An example change order may look like the following:
Change Order # 1
Purchasers: ______________________________
Date: ___________________________________
Contract dated: ___________________________
Plan: ___________________________________
Address: ________________________________...
